Inform Environmental Policy in St. John's: Join the Committee!

Note from Dave: The following is a notice from the City calling for new members to a committee I chair, the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC). Let me know if you have any questions!

The City of St. John’s is seeking nominations from City residents to serve as volunteer members of the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC). The term of membership is four years from April 2014 to April 2018.

The Committee’s purpose is to advise Council on environmental issues that affect the City, as referred by Council or committees of Council, or as initiated by the Committee or the community. Membership is comprised of citizen and organizational representation as well as members of Council and City support staff. It meets every six weeks during midday.

If you are interested, please submit a letter or e-mail indicating why you would make a good citizen representative and stating your interest or expertise in any of the following areas: water-resources engineering; animal and plant ecology; environmental law; river conservation; wildlife and environmental issues; and or land development and construction. To make a submission or to obtain further information on the EAC’s Terms of Reference, please contact the Recording Secretary at (709) 576-8619 or the contact information below.

The deadline for submission of nominations is Friday, March 21, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.
